Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Tonight was my very first time at Celebrate Recovery, and I have to say it hit me in a way I didn’t expect. I came in feeling unsure, maybe even a little disconnected, but I left with something useful stirring inside me.
During the event, I heard a testimony from pastor Vicky from Celebrate Recovery that truly not only touched my heart but also related my issue I have been going on. She spoke about forgiveness not just as a concept, but as a lived experience. She shared how she saw her ex-husband for the first time in six years, and how that moment became a doorway to healing.
Her words stuck in me:
> “Making amends isn’t just about the past it’s about your present and your future.” Which is true.
She talked about the pain, the brokenness, the long road of recovery, and how God gave her peace to face someone who once caused her deep hurt that applies to anyone who had hurt too. And when she said, “I forgive you,” it wasn’t just for him it was for herself.
Celebrate Recovery isn’t just a program it’s a place where real healing happens. It’s where stories like Vicky’s remind us that we’re not alone, and that restoration is possible.
I joined Newcomers 101 tonight, and it helped me understand the heart of this community.
I’m still learning, still searching connection , but I’m grateful I showed up.
📢 To all men and women who are new to Celebrate Recovery especially those who came to Newcomers 101 tonight:
📩 Have you came tonight to Newcomers 101 recently?
🌱 If you’re new to Celebrate Recovery, what do you recommend I try next time?
👥 Can men and women be in the same group, or are they always separate?
💻 Am I the only one here of online harassment or emotional trauma?
Is it okay to ask to follow each other on Instagram for encouragement outside of group?
If I ever feel overwhelmed or unsafe, is ok to talk to someone outside the group?
Is there a way to connect with women in recovery outside of Wednesday nights?
I’m looking to join again next Wednesday and get more socially connected.
I’d love to hear from others who are walking this journey too.
📱 Feel free to text me. Let’s support each other, share stories, and grow together.
Looking forward next Wednesday night.
