Riverdale Animal Shelter ā 12155 Park Blvd, Brighton, CO 80601
Today was my first time ever visiting an animal shelter.
When I walked in and saw the dogs behind the glass, I could feel the sadness in the room. Some were barking, some were quiet, some were pacing. It made me think about how animals express their feelings and honestly, it reminded me of how I feel when people push too many boundaries in my life. If I were a dog, I think I would howl too.
But even with the sadness, there was something positive about being there.
It felt meaningful to walk through the shelter, to see each dog, to notice their personalities, and to know that every one of them is waiting for a opportunity. Exploring the shelter made me appreciate how much love animals can give, even when theyāre going through something hard.
ā What Stood Out to Me
- Every dog had a different personality
- Some were shy, some were excited, some were hopeful
- The shelter was clean and organized
- Even in sadness, there was still a feeling of hope
- It reminded me that everyone people and animals needs kindness
It was emotional, but it was also a good experience. Iām glad I went.
š«¶ To Women Who Are Dog People or Cat People
Iām sharing this the same way I would talk to someone in person relaxed, honest, and comfortable.
If youāve been to this shelter before:
- What do you recommend I try next time besides just saying hi or waving
- How do you stay calm when you feel shy asking for help
-
And something Iām still learning:
- Can men and women be friends in a safe, respectful way
š± Asking for Instagram Help
Sometimes I need temporary help with Instagram not all the time, just when Iām trying to grow my page for a good cause.
If someone is with me during the day, how can I ask for help in a friendly, appropriate way
I want to learn how to ask without making anyone feel pressured.
š¬ Easy Questions You Can Answer by Text
You can text me at 720ā461ā5891.
These questions are simple and easy to reply to:
- Have you ever visited an animal shelter
- Are you a dog person or a cat person
- What helps you feel confident asking for help
- Is anyone here on Instagram ? If not how can friends still help a friend out?
š Why I Ask for Texts Instead of Comments
Because of my learning disabilities and memory challenges, texting is easier for me than reading long comment sections. Text messages help me:
- stay focused
- not lose track of conversations
- remember who Iām talking to
- respond clearly
Itās not about privacy itās about communication that works better for me.
