I’ve been attending Thrive Church services since March 8, and today I took another step my first time joining the Recovery Friday group. Walking in felt new, a little unfamiliar, but also hopeful. I kept thinking, “This is where growth begins.”
Recovery isn’t just about fixing something. It’s about letting God shape us, guide us, and help us become who He created us to be. Today felt like a starting point a baseline for my own spiritual growth.
💛 What I’m Learning About Myself
I’m 30 now, and sometimes I feel like I didn’t get far after high school. I have long‑term dreams like wanting to be married someday, wanting a family with kids, a life that lasts. I know I can’t control everything, but I can take steps toward becoming the man God wants me to be.
Recovery Friday reminded me that transformation starts with honesty, humility, and community.
⭐ What Stood Out to Me Today
- Everyone was welcoming
- The message was simple but powerful
- Recovery is not about shame it’s about growth
- God meets us where we are
- Every step counts, even the small ones
It made me feel like I’m not walking alone.
🫶 To My Brothers and Sisters at Thrive
I’m sharing this the same way I would talk to someone after service relaxed, honest, and respectful.
Don’t hesitate to tell me your thoughts.
I’m always happy to hear how God is speaking to you too.
💬 Easy Questions You Can Answer by Text
You can text me at 720‑461‑5891.
These questions are simple and easy to reply to:
- What helped you when you first joined Recovery?
- What should I try next time besides just saying hi or waving?
- What part of Recovery Friday encourages you the most?
- Can men and women be friends in a safe, respectful way?
- How do you ask friends for small help without feeling shy?
- Is anyone here on Instagram? If not. How friends can help ?
📝 Why I Ask for Texts Instead of Comments
Because of my learning disabilities and memory challenges, texting is easier for me than reading long comment sections. Text messages help me:
- stay focused
- not lose track of conversations
- remember who I’m talking to
- respond clearly
It’s not about privacy it’s about communication that works better for me.
🌱 Looking to Come Back Again
I want to keep growing, keep learning, and keep connecting with others at Thrive. I’m trying to be more social, more engaged, and more open to community.
If you’ve been part of Recovery Friday, I’d happy to hear your experience.
What helped you when you first started your recovery journey?
