Hey there,
On July 3rd, 2025, I went to Indy Eve at Civic Center Park Denver’s big celebration before the 4th of July.
The event was incredible: live music, circus performers, food trucks, and a breathtaking drone show that lit up the sky with 300 glowing lights forming the Statue of Liberty, the DIA Mustang, and more.
It was everything a celebration should be—except for one thing. I was alone. Like every year, I showed up solo.
I watched others families laughing, couples holding hands, and groups of friends taking selfies under the lights.
And while I was surrounded by thousands of people, I felt invisible. I’ve tried reaching out. I’ve asked friends to join me.
I’ve even asked my therapist for advice on how to feel less alone during moments like this. But nothing ever really changes. One friend Shea was the first girl I ever trusted.
And now, that connection is gone too.
So I’m writing this not just to share what I saw, but to ask something real:
💬 Have you ever gone to Indy Eve alone? 🌆 Were you there this year?
Did you notice anyone sitting by themselves? 👥 Do you know of any groups that go together?
I’d love to join next time.
For both men and women—who been to this fireworks drone show:
– What do you recommend I try next time to feel more connected?
– Have you ever felt this way at a big event? 📢 I’m looking to return again—but not alone.
If you’ve ever felt like this too, or if you’re open to forming a group for next year, I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s make next year different—for all of us who’ve ever felt unseen in a crowd.
