Today’s visit to the Lutheran Medical Center was a poignant reminder of the unpredictable nature of recovery. The readiness I saw in my father for rehabilitation was overshadowed by the new revelation about his vision. The nurses informed me that he may not be able to see, a condition we hadn’t anticipated. Despite this, his ability to respond to commands, even if only with a simple “yes,” gives us a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty.
